The Adolescent (1875) is Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel about Arkady Dolgoruky, the 19-year-old illegitimate son of the landowner Versilov and a peasant woman. He comes to St. Petersburg determined to become as rich as a Rothschild. He carries a hidden letter that could ruin a powerful family and tries to understand the father he barely knows. It is also published as A Raw Youth.
