Scout's Honor: A Novel
Categories: Literature & Fiction, Sports & Outdoors
Scout's Honor is a basketball novel by Charley Rosen, a former coach and longtime basketball writer, with a foreword by Phil Jackson. The story goes inside the world of professional basketball scouting, showing how experienced scouts size up players by watching them closely, from footwork and court sense to character and toughness. Rosen draws on his decades around the game to contrast the trained eye of veteran evaluators with the growing reliance on statistics, and to portray the people who make their living on the road judging talent.
