Rise of the Earth Dragon

In the first Dragon Masters book, eight-year-old Drake, who works on an onion farm, is taken to King Roland's castle to train as a Dragon Master under the wizard Griffith, alongside Ana, Rori and Bo. Each apprentice is paired with a dragon, and Drake must learn to bond with Worm, the Earth Dragon, and discover what his dragon can do. Short chapters and illustrations by Graham Howells make this Branches series a first step into chapter books for young readers.
