Responsibilities and Other Poems
By W. B. Yeats
W. B. Yeats's Responsibilities, first published in 1914 and expanded in 1916 under this title, is often seen as the start of his mature style. Its plain, forceful poems attack the materialism of Irish middle-class life and mourn lost ideals, as in September 1913, while others look at his ancestors, his art and his own aging. The collection also includes The Magi, The Cold Heaven and A Coat.
