Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung (1987) collects the writing of rock critic Lester Bangs, edited by Greil Marcus after Bangs's death in 1982. The pieces range from reviews and essays for Creem and other magazines to unpublished work, covering the Stooges, the Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, the Clash and Van Morrison. Bangs writes in a loud, funny, personal voice, arguing about what rock music is for and who it belongs to.
