Principles of Economics is a 2023 textbook by Saifedean Ammous, an economist known for his bestseller The Bitcoin Standard. Published by his own imprint, The Saif House, it presents economics from the perspective of the Austrian school. Ammous builds the subject up from human action, time preference and scarcity through to money, capital, trade and the role of government. He argues that sound, hard money encourages saving and long-term thinking, and he criticizes inflationary central banking and much of mainstream economics.
