On the Day You Were Born
Categories: Education & Teaching
Debra Frasier's picture book welcomes a newborn child to the Earth by describing the natural world that greets every baby. The book shows how the planet spins, the Moon pulls the tides, the Sun shines, the rain falls and animals migrate on the day a child is born. Frasier's cut-paper illustrations accompany the lyrical text, and notes at the end explain the science behind each event. The book was published in 1991.
