Midnight Robber is a science fiction novel by Nalo Hopkinson, published in 2000. Tan-Tan grows up on Toussaint, a planet colonized by people of Caribbean descent and governed by an all-seeing computer network. When her father commits a crime, she is exiled with him to New Half-Way Tree, a lawless parallel world. There she survives abuse and danger and takes on the role of the Midnight Robber, a legendary Carnival figure, in a story told in Caribbean English.
