Men and Rubber: The Story of Business
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Business & Money
Harvey Firestone tells the story of how he built the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, from selling buggies and carriage tires to supplying Henry Ford's cars. Written with Samuel Crowther and first published in 1926, the book mixes memoir with business advice on selling, competition, managing people and keeping costs down. Firestone also describes his friendships with Ford and Thomas Edison and his efforts to secure a rubber supply outside British control.
