Martha Stewart's Cooking School: Lessons and Recipes for the Home Cook (2008) by Martha Stewart is a cookbook organized by technique rather than by dish. Stewart teaches basic skills, from holding a chef's knife and trussing a chicken to roasting, braising, stewing, sautéing, steaming and poaching, then puts each lesson to work in more than 200 recipes. Step-by-step photographs guide readers through the methods, and the book also covers equipment and ingredients. It inspired her PBS series of the same name.
