Love, Loss, and What We Ate: A Memoir
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Cookbooks, Food & Wine
Love, Loss, and What We Ate (2016, Ecco) is Padma Lakshmi's memoir of a life told through food, from the rice she ate on her grandmother's kitchen floor in South India to the judges' table of Top Chef. She writes about shuttling between India and the United States as a child, her years as a model, her marriage to Salman Rushdie, her long struggle with endometriosis and becoming a mother. Each chapter ends with recipes, among them a kumquat and ginger chutney.
