Last Night in Twisted River is a 2009 novel by John Irving, author of The World According to Garp and The Cider House Rules. It begins in 1954 in a logging camp in northern New Hampshire, where twelve-year-old Danny Baciagalupo lives with his father, the camp cook. After Danny accidentally kills a woman he mistakes for a bear, father and son flee, pursued for decades by a vengeful local constable. The story spans five decades and moves from Boston to Vermont and Toronto as Danny grows up to become a novelist.
