Last Call at Coogan's: The Life and Death of a Neighborhood Bar is a 2020 book by Jon Michaud, a writer and former head librarian at The New Yorker, about Coogan's, a pub in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Opened in 1985, Coogan's became a gathering place for police, politicians, doctors from the nearby medical center, runners and local families during decades when the neighborhood faced crack, violence and gentrification. Michaud tells its history through its owners and regulars, up to its closing in 2020.
