Is the American Century Over? (2015) is a short book by Harvard political scientist Joseph S. Nye Jr. Nye argues that despite China's rise, the United States is not in absolute decline and remains the leading world power in military, economic and soft-power terms. He distinguishes relative from absolute decline and asks what combination of failures would actually end the American century.
