Hard-Core: Life of My Own
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Hard-Core is the memoir of Harley Flanagan, founder of the Cro-Mags and a central figure in New York's punk and hardcore scenes. Raised on the Lower East Side in the 1970s among artists and musicians connected to Andy Warhol's circle, he was performing with the Stimulators by age eleven and became a teenage fixture at CBGB and Max's Kansas City. Flanagan traces the rise of hardcore punk, his experiences of street violence, addiction and legal battles, and his reinvention through martial arts and sobriety.
