Hacking Your Education
Categories: Education & Teaching, Self-Help
Dale J. Stephens, a largely homeschooled member of the first class of Thiel Fellows, argues that the useful question is not how to get a college degree but how to get the things a degree promises: skills, networks, experience and work. He shows how to build them outside the classroom through mentors, projects, internships, online resources and real-world jobs, with short exercises he calls Hacks of the Day. Stephens founded UnCollege, a program for self-directed learners (Perigee, 2013).
