Fruiting Bodies
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Fruiting Bodies (2022) is the debut short story collection of American writer Kathryn Harlan. Its stories move between fantasy, gothic tales and realist fiction, many of them centred on queer characters. Harlan writes about longing, transformation and the strangeness of bodies and families, in settings that range from fairy-tale worlds to ordinary contemporary lives. Several stories turn on encounters with the supernatural that reveal hidden desires.
