Fossil Future (2022) by Alex Epstein argues that coal, oil and natural gas will remain essential to human flourishing for decades to come. Epstein says the climate debate weighs only the side effects of fossil fuels and ignores their benefits: cheap, reliable energy for food, medicine and protection from the weather. He criticizes the experts and media he calls the knowledge system, and argues for judging energy policy by its effect on human lives.
