False Alarm

False Alarm (2020) by Bjørn Lomborg accepts that climate change is real and caused by humans but argues that panic about it leads to costly, ineffective policies. Using economic estimates, Lomborg compares the costs of drastic emissions cuts with the damage they would prevent. He argues for cheaper approaches instead: a modest carbon tax, much more spending on green energy research, adaptation, and fighting poverty, which makes societies more resilient.
