Faithful and Virtuous Night: Poems
By Louise Glück
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Faithful and Virtuous Night is a collection of poems by Louise Glück, published in 2014. The poems are told in several voices, including an aging painter, and move between memory and dream as they consider childhood, mortality, art and the passing of time. Glück mixes lyric poems with short prose pieces that read like fables. It was the first of her books to include prose poems, and she drew inspiration from the short works of Franz Kafka.
