Fads and Fallacies in the Name of Science
Categories: Science & Math
Martin Gardner examines pseudoscience and the people who promote it. Gardner looks at flat-Earth theories, hollow-Earth ideas, dowsing, food fads, medical cures, theories of race and many other fringe beliefs, and explains why they fail scientific tests. He describes the traits common to cranks and their followers. First published in 1952, the book is considered a founding work of the modern skeptical movement.
