Categories: Literature & Fiction
Eyewitness is a 1981 mystery novel by John Minahan, adapted from Steve Tesich's screenplay for the Peter Yates thriller of the same name. It is told from the perspective of Daryll Deever, a New York office-building janitor. After a murder in his building, Daryll becomes fascinated with a television news reporter covering the case and pretends to know more than he does to keep her interested. That bluff draws them both into danger from the killers.

- Quentin Tarantino: “I think Peter Yates' Eyewitness is crap. It's just a crappy movie... Minahan makes a humdinger of a book out of it. Again, it's from the janitor's perspective.”
