Euripides: Fragments: Oedipus-Chrysippus. Other Fragments
By Euripides
Categories: Drama, Literature & Fiction
This Loeb Classical Library volume presents the surviving fragments of Euripides' lost plays, from Oedipus to Chrysippus, along with other fragments. Edited and translated by Christopher Collard and Martin Cropp, it gives the Greek text with facing English translation, introductions to each play and notes. Many of the fragments are short sayings on fate, wisdom, love and human nature, preserved by later writers who quoted them.

- Shane Parrish: “A worthy addition to any library. The guy is full of wit and wisdom. Consider #583, which says “That (you) know nothing of your mistakes is sufficient to kindle your bravado.” Or #1042: “We are all wise in giving advice, but we don’t realize it when we ourselves go wrong.””
