Empire of Wild is a 2019 novel by Cherie Dimaline, a Métis writer from Georgian Bay, Ontario, and the author of The Marrow Thieves. It draws on the Métis legend of the rogarou, a werewolf-like creature. Joan has spent a year searching for her husband, Victor, who vanished after an argument. She finds him leading a revival tent meeting under another name and with no memory of her, and she sets out with an elderly friend and a young nephew to win him back.
