Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Buffett (Random House, 1995; this paperback 2008) is journalist Roger Lowenstein's biography of the investor Warren Buffett. Drawing on interviews with Buffett's circle, Lowenstein follows him from a boyhood in Omaha selling gum and newspapers through study under Benjamin Graham at Columbia and his investment partnership to control of Berkshire Hathaway, a struggling textile firm. He explains the value investing behind stakes in See's Candies, GEICO and The Washington Post, his partnership with Charlie Munger and his rescue of Salomon Brothers in 1991.
