Born of This Land: My Life Story is the English translation of the autobiography of Chung Ju-yung (1915-2001), founder of the Hyundai Group, published by The Asan Academy in 2019. Chung recalls growing up in a poor farming village in Gangwon Province, running away from home several times, and starting out with a rice store and a car-repair shop. He then traces Hyundai's growth into construction, shipbuilding and automobiles, and the role it played in South Korea's rapid industrialization.
