Book of Lives: A Memoir of Sorts is Margaret Atwood's 2025 memoir, published by Doubleday, in which the author of The Handmaid's Tale tells the story of her own life. Raised by scientifically minded parents who spent much of each year in the forests of northern Quebec, Atwood traces her path to becoming a writer, linking key moments to her books, from the school year behind Cat's Eye to 1980s Berlin, and to her long partnership with the writer Graeme Gibson.
