Black and British: A Forgotten History
Categories: History
Black and British: A Forgotten History is a 2016 history of Black people in Britain by the British historian and broadcaster David Olusoga, published by Macmillan alongside his BBC television series of the same name. Olusoga traces Britain's relationship with Africa and the Caribbean from Roman Britain through the Tudor court, the transatlantic slave trade and abolition, to the Windrush generation and modern Britain. The book won the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize and argues that Black history is central to British history.
