Beginning Middle End is a 2026 novel by the Mexican writer Valeria Luiselli, author of Lost Children Archive. After her marriage collapses, a recently divorced writer travels through Sicily with her preteen daughter. Their trip turns into a quest to return a stolen ancient mosaic of the sea god Proteus. Mixing road story with essay, the novel weaves together family memory, migration, myth and volcanic landscapes as it asks how a family begins again after an ending.
