Bill Clinton's 2011 book, subtitled Why We Need Smart Government for a Strong Economy, is his response to the Great Recession and the political debates that followed it. He argues that government and the private sector must work together to create jobs and growth, and he lays out proposals on energy, infrastructure, banking, taxes and education, while criticizing the anti-government politics he believes are holding the country back.
