Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 1

Autobiography of Mark Twain, Volume 1 is the first of three volumes of Twain's autobiography published by the University of California Press, in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Twain dictated much of the work in his last years and asked that parts not be published until a century after his death. Edited by Harriet Elinor Smith and the Mark Twain Project, the volume presents his reminiscences of family, friends, travel and public life, along with frank opinions on politics and society.
