Another America
Categories: Literature & Fiction
Barbara Kingsolver's 1992 collection of poems, published in a bilingual edition with Spanish translations by Rebeca Cartes on the facing pages, looks at the United States from the perspective of people on its margins. The poems address war, poverty, violence against women, the politics of Central America and immigration, as well as motherhood, love and the land of the American Southwest, where Kingsolver lived.
