Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Andrew Carnegie (1970) by Joseph Frazier Wall is a biography of the Scottish-born industrialist and philanthropist. Wall follows Carnegie from his childhood in Dunfermline, Scotland, and his family's emigration to Pittsburgh to his rise through the telegraph and railroad businesses and his creation of a steel empire. The book also examines his labor conflicts, including the Homestead strike of 1892, and his later giving to libraries, education and peace.
