An Autobiography: The Story of My Experiments with Truth

By Mahatma Gandhi

Categories: Biographies & Memoirs

Mohandas K. Gandhi wrote his autobiography in Gujarati as weekly installments in the 1920s, and his secretary Mahadev Desai translated it into English. It covers his life from his childhood in Porbandar through his law studies in London and two decades in South Africa, where he developed satyagraha, his method of nonviolent resistance, up to 1921. Gandhi presents his life as a series of experiments in truth, including diet, celibacy, simplicity and religious practice.
