American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Politics & Social Sciences
American Like Me (2018) is an anthology edited by actor America Ferrera with E. Cayce Dumont, gathering first-person essays about growing up between cultures in the United States. Contributors including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Issa Rae, Roxane Gay, Michelle Kwan, Jeremy Lin, Reshma Saujani and Ferrera herself write about family, language, identity and the moments when they felt both inside and outside American life. Together the essays ask what it means to belong to more than one culture at once.
