Accidental Millionaire: The Rise and Fall of Steve Jobs at Apple Computer, by Lee Butcher, is a 1988 account of Jobs's early career, published a few years after he was forced out of Apple in 1985. Butcher traces how Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple in 1976, the success of the Apple II, the development of the Lisa and Macintosh, Jobs's hiring of John Sculley and the boardroom struggle that led to his departure. It is one of the earliest book-length portraits of Jobs.
