A Midsummer Night's Dream
Categories: Drama, Literature & Fiction
On the eve of Duke Theseus's wedding to Hippolyta, four young Athenian lovers flee into a wood where the fairy king Oberon and his queen, Titania, are quarreling. Shakespeare's comedy was first printed in 1600. Oberon's servant Puck uses a magic flower to change who loves whom, while tradesmen led by the weaver Nick Bottom rehearse a play for the wedding. Puck gives Bottom a donkey's head, and Titania, under a spell, falls in love with him.
