A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is Mark Twain's 1889 satirical novel about a nineteenth-century American who finds himself in medieval England. After a blow to the head, Hank Morgan, a practical factory superintendent, wakes up at Camelot. He uses his knowledge of technology to pass as a magician, gain power and try to modernize the kingdom. The novel mocks romantic ideas of chivalry, the church and monarchy.
