A Bigger Picture: My Fight to Bring a New African Voice to the Climate Crisis (2021) by Vanessa Nakate is a memoir and call to action about climate change. Nakate, a climate activist from Uganda who began striking in Kampala in 2019, describes how her activism started and how she was cropped out of a news photo of young activists at the World Economic Forum in 2020. She explains how climate change affects Africa and argues that people in the Global South must be heard.
