2666 is a novel by Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño, published in Spanish in 2004 after his death and in English in 2008, translated by Natasha Wimmer. It won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. The book is in five parts, linked by the reclusive German novelist Benno von Archimboldi and by Santa Teresa, a Mexican border city modeled on Ciudad Juárez, where hundreds of women are murdered. The long fourth part, recounting these killings, is the dark center of a sprawling and experimental novel.
